Part 2...Leaving Baby's Dad...Never Married...need advice?

Ok, maybe people didnt understand my last question. What I'm trying to figure out is what kind of assistance can I get? Like from Job %26amp; Family Services and housing assistance? I know there are a few government housing apartment buildings here, so I'm wondering how I go about all that.

And how does child support work and does he get to see our daughter if we were never married?Part 2...Leaving Baby's Dad...Never Married...need advice?
TANF (Temporary Aid to Needy Families) has funds in place for mothers with young children. Call your State Welfare Department to fill out an application. They can also point you in the right direction for Section 8 Housing.

Child support is based on how much he earns, and yes, he gets to see his daughter even if he never married you. He is still her parent, regardless of whether he was your husband.

Good luck.Part 2...Leaving Baby's Dad...Never Married...need advice?
You'll have to contact social services in your city and see what they can do to help you. Pretty much any fair-sized city, will have services to help you find a place to live (either subsidised housing, a shelter, a low-rent apartment that accepts social assistance recipients ect), as well help with finding subsidised daycare, a job or info on going back to school.

Child support and visitation are the same regardless of whether you were married or not, he's still the father. Try and work out your own agreement so that you don't have to go through some ugly process in court. I don't know how it works for Ohio, but my province has charts that say if the person earns x amount of $, they pay x amount for child support. I'll attach it in a couple minutes if I can find it. You could use it as a giudeline.

Good luck.

ok, scroll down to page 4 for the actual chart:

it's for all of Canada, not just my province.
well you get welfare and food stamps.. they take him to court for the child support.. now if he says he is not sure he is the father.. and some do say that.. there will be a DNA test court order.. visit are every other weekend.. the courts will let you know what weekends and yes you will be put on a waiting list for the housing..
You two dont have to be married to have a custody order.

Possibly a paternity test will have to be done depending on the age of the kids if you were never married.

Same thing with child support...mostly they calculate the timeshare the age of the kid(s) and both incomes.

Look up a child support calculator for your state.

You can apply for section 8 housing and apply for state aid and food stamps.
