Unless he is E5 and above or an E4 with more than 4 years in, most likely he will not be able to live off base and get BAH w/o dependents. He will also not qualify for housing. If the barracks are overloaded or he has been in awhile then it is possible he can put in a request and he gets it approved. Your moving there will be all at your own cost if you are not married and you will not have any or limited base access.

When you get married you will either live in military housing or out in town. He will receive BAH w/dependents (it doesn't matter if it is just you or you and 20 kids it is the same amount). It is based on his rank/rate and the command's zip code. The only time it will be based on your zip code is if he is on unaccompanied orders. There is no longer VAQ that was gotten rid of years ago and now it is just BAH. Yes if you live in housing they do get the amount of BAH. It is to pay for the utiilties, the upkeep, maintenance, etc... If you live in military housing you never see BAH on the LES. If you live in PPV (Privatized Housing) then they do subject all or at least 3/4 of the BAH. You pay for cable, internet and telephone no matter what and always have.

When you get married he will get BAS - food allowance - $293 per month to feed him. If he is in barracks then he will not get it until he turns his meal card in because he has access to the galley.

Family Separation is paid when AD member is gone longer than 30 days due to schooling, TAD, TDY, orders or deployment. It is $250 per month.

You will be enrolled in Tricare Standard as soon as your information is entered into DEERS. With Standard there is a yearly deductible and a co-pay per visit. You are a Space A only at Military Hospitals %26amp; Clinics (MTF). You can get your prescriptions filled on base for free or out in town for less than a certain amount at places like WalGreens. If you decide to change to Tricare Prime then there is no co-pay or deductible. You can be assigned a PCM (Primary Care Manager) at a MTF or out in town if they do not have the facilities available.

United Concordia/Tricare Dental - $13 a month for single, $30 a month for family. You do not go to on base dentists (unless you are overseas) you go to private dentists. You get 2 free cleanings %26amp; 1 xray a year. After that there is a co-pay how much depends on the state, the charges, etc.. You are limited to $1200 worth of work a year per person. If you are under 23, then you do qualify for up to $1500 towards the cost of braces. Any amount over the $1500 is yours to pay.

You can use the base gym, commissary (Grocery store), Exchange (department store), gas station, Child Care, etc.. if you are married. You can do free programs with Army Family Services such as budgeting, buying a car, buying a house, etc.. Even one that is called Spouse 101 that explains all your benefits, etc...Married Solider Advice.. Marital Benefits?
Basic Allowance for Housing (BHA Based on where you live there may also be a Variable Housing Allowanc (VHA) included in this.) This is based on a sliding scale of where you live and your rank.

Basic Allowance for Sustenance (BAS more commonly called Seperate Rats) This is the same for all enlisted members allowed to mess separately.

If you are deployed overseas, you may also be eligible for Family Separation Allowance.
everything you get the spouse get. the spouse will get free medical on post+medicine. you will get dental on post free but you spouse will get dental off post and you have to pay the percentage (i.e you pay 20% of the cost depending on your rank) also life insurance is about 7 dollar for you spouse and 27 for you. well you get an BAH, it ranges depending the cost of living. also BAS for food. about 300.hope that will help
