I'm getting married in October and i need some advice on planning a wedding?

our budget is 5,000 and i need some tips on how to make it nice even though we have a low budgetI'm getting married in October and i need some advice on planning a wedding?
Dress - buy samples; go for David Bridals $99 sale

Favors %26amp; Reception Items - Oriental Trading www.orientaltrading.com

Walmart, Target %26amp; Michaels has wedding items as well. Target does this ';something blue'; line during these upcoming months where they sale wedding items for .99. Check them out.

This should be all you need!!I'm getting married in October and i need some advice on planning a wedding?
For one, you can save money on flowers by not using a florist. This might sound odd but I went to Winn Dixie and used their floral department. I saved about 200 bucks using them than a florist. Or if you really want to go cheapo, go to a craft store and use fake flowers.

go to www.houseofbrides.com for your wedding dress and other needs. Their prices are reasonable and they have lots of dress to choose from.

For the ceremony its self, why not a backyard wedding? Those are always pretty.
Yep. Use www.orientaltrading.com for party favors. I did. And also, I didn't like theknot. I use www.weddingwire.com. It's a lot more user friendly and freelance. You can do everything. It provides a month-to-month TO DO list based on your wedding date that is great. You can add or delete from it. I also use their website as well. Use www.vistaprint.com for your Save-The-Date magnets. And use www.budgetweddinginvitations.com. I used ';Platinum Panel

Item #:CV122'; and they came out just right for me. Put my own words in the invitation and RSVP cards.
For the food, I would suggest a buffet. The food will be hot and people can choose what they want to eat.

Sit down dinners are way too expensive, and every wedding I've been to where there was a sit down dinner, the food was cold by the time they served us.

Happy wedding!
im having one i october as well. not sure what your list is like but mine is going to be 35 or less. im not the wedding or ceremony type but do want to make it a very special, intimate day for both myself %26amp; my fiance. but i have been giving it a lot of thought %26amp; i really only want people there who at the least know us both (altho some family members have squeezed in, but i put a stop to it after them) %26amp; know our history as they would be able to really appreciate it more.

we are traveling so we have the expense of some long non-direct flights and i have found the only way to have something really nice on a tight budget is to lower the number. not have any flowers, but some fall/autumn diy decorations. no dj or band except an mp3 player (but the sound system costs to rent out). im also keeping the ceremony, reception, hotel rooms in the same place. no wedding cake as everyone will be getting desert anyway. im also buying a dress that is not a wedding dress but looks stunning on me %26amp; one that i can wear again.
try these websites, they help you plan within your budget:

I'm getting married in October as well and have a budget of $10,000.oo for a guest list of 175. I'm actually coming in under budget and not skimping on anything.

First things first, if you want to get married this October you got to step on getting a hall. Do an off day like a Friday or Sunday and you can almost cut the cost in half or get great package deals. Look for a place that you can have both the ceremony and reception at, that way you don't have to spend money on transportation.

Next, get ready for a lot of DIY(do-it-yourself) projects.

You can make your own invitations using a printer, pretty paper and cardstock, and a stamp. Look through google for cardstock paper, fall themed rubber stamps. A good site I found is bluedotpapershop.com, some of the paper is really pretty and $9.99 for 100 sheets. They have both pretty text paper(slightly thicker than normal printer paper) and cardstock for good prices and with pretty colors and types.

Check out theknot.com and look at ideas of invitations and you can make yours to your taste for a fraction of the price.

You can also make your own wedding programs this way, that can save you money in the long run.

For cake(if your hall doesn't include it in a package) go with a smaller cake decorated the way you want. It can be all fake but the bottom layer for cutting. Have sheet cakes in the back of the same flavor.

Look for a dress at bridal sales, some have 50% off or more on sample dresses or dresses that are discontinued. For example I got a gorgeous dress that retails for $1300 for $500 at a bridal show trunk sale. But you can also check Ebay, sometimes you can find previously worn dresses for under $100, they might even include the crinoline and veil with it.

Go with a smaller bridal party. The smaller the bridal party the less you'll pay on materials to make bouquets and boutonierres. You can get the materials to make them through craft stores in your area. A good one if you have it near you is Pat Catans.

Price check DJs in your area, some offer packages for off days that might include doing the music for your ceremony and cocktail hour included.

For a photographer, find one that charges per hour, only get a CD of the pics with full copyrights to them so you can make copies. You can make your own photo album through mypublisher.com for cheap, they often run a deal of buy one get one free so if you want to make a parents album you can make a small one for each parent. The rest of the pictures that you want printed out you can go through snapfish.com or shutterfly.com for cheap, they also run discounts for joining usually or for being a member.

For your fiance, check tux shops in the area, sometimes they run a deal of if you have so many rentals for your wedding that you get the groom's tux for free.

For little items such as a guest book you can usually find at a discount store for cheap. You can make your own unity candle using a regular pretty smelling pillar candle and decorate it the way you want(get creative, use ribbon, crystals, anything you want).

And of course the dreaded cost of favors. Go with candy in bags(which you can buy in bulk, like M%26amp;Ms) or go with a favorite cookie in a cellophane bag tied with a ribbon. Sweets always go over big and are less likely to be left at the reception at the end of it.

Good luck, I hope it pulls together for you.
Do as much yourself as you can. Shop around and compare prices instead of going with the first one you see. Ask vendors if they will better the price (i.e. give you a discount if you go with them instead).

See if your family can help with food, like does someone in your family cook well?, attire - does someone know how to make dresses?, can they bake a cake? are they creative enough to make your invitations and bomboniere?
I can tell you that a great resource for wedding decorations, and planning help is www.orientaltradingcompany.com

this site offers allot of really nice wedding stuff, from invitations, to decorations, to even personalized glasses, name cards! Another good idea is search the web for free wedding planners there are allot of really great sites dedicated to wedding planning and you can also save money by not using a mainstream planner!
