Date night advice married?

My wife and I have been married for 8.5 years...we have had terrible troubles over the past year or so...it has all built up and exploded in our faces...to the point we were staring divorce down the barrell...we have three small boys 8,6,4...she was leaving just a month ago and there was nothing that was stopping her...well, something did....I have been doing the love dare from the fireproof thing...we started going to counseling (with the push from some of her friends) and now, just now we are starting to move forward...we are TALKING...we are expressing what we want out of marriag and life, we are not that far apart...which is awesome...all that said, what we really miss, she, and I is spontaneous life (not crazy stuff, just a break from the business of day to day parenting and life)...Last night she made me dinner after the kids were in bed, and SHE (who is completely against help) bought the Fireproof movie and we watched it...it was her way of saying...';hey, I am in this';...then we made love for the first time in 3 months (yippee...it was great too)....





All that said, I need to do something this week, we are going to alternate weeks, sometimes we need to go out, but most times it will be just the two of us doing something after the kids have gone to bed...she just did dinner and movie (althought serious, still good)...next week it is my turn...sooooo I was thinking some sort of game or something ...keep it fun and light...

There's lots of Adult games sold at places like ';Lovers Lane';. I liked the card game, it was an actual deck of cards with sexy things written on each card. we actually didn't follow the games rules, instead, we played card games that we liked, like poker, and the loser of each hand would have to do everything on all the cards they were holding. It might be too forward if you're just getting things going in the bedroom. I suggest you make your own, like, go get a deck of cards and write your own things on them, maybe even some relationship building things. Here's some examples:

I think it's great that you and her are trying to fix your marriage. After the kids go to bed shut most the lights in the house off and light some candles. Give her a bunch of flowers in which you have written a little message for her and place it inside the bud of each flower. Let her unwrap each little note and finish the evening with a foot massage.
I think a game night sounds like a fun and light idea! Sounds like you guys have had a rough run lately and I wish you the best. I normally suggest threesomes but it doesn't sound like the right idea in your situation.

Unlike tom you sound pretty awesome. I like ';what would you do'; board games. Those are a lot of fun. ';Scene it'; is great. My husband and I had a good time with that one.
It'll just crash and burn a few years from now...swallow the bitter pill now and save the expense of a new courtship.
